Our Painted Fireplace
Yes, we decided to paint the fireplace. Click here for photos of what it looked like before we painted it. I'm so glad we did because I think it really brightens up the space. We used a white semi-gloss latex paint from Lowes. It took several coats to fill in all the little holes since the brick was so porous.

It totally looks different! You did a great job painting it! Btw, I noticed that you've been thinking about it since last year. What took you so long in deciding and what made you decide? Well, it seems like it was a tough decision for you but you actually made the right choice. Maintaining it all the way is the next step. You should really do it, since it's painted white.
